Will I be able to order spare parts?

Yes! You’ll be able to order extras of key removable parts (like the glass brewing chamber) in the address surveys sent at the end of the campaign.

Each machine will come with a descaling pouch and instructions for use!

Can I clean my machine with household chemicals?

No problem! You’ll be able to wipe down BRÜ as part of your cleaning routine like any other kitchen appliance you own.

Does BRÜ come with a warranty?

We are planning to expand the 2 year warranty globally for all Kickstarter backers. This is explained and clarified in our ‘one week update’ week.

Will BRÜ work in the U.S.?

Yes, BRÜ will be available for 110v regions and as US customers you’ll be able to select a 5-15 (or Type B) plug during the address surveys after the campaign ends. The units will also be in imperial measurements.

Can I switch my order within the same tier level afterward?

Yes, you can upgrade from BRÜ to BRÜ+ on the same tier level at the end of the campaign.

How can I order more than one machine?

Once the campaign has ended, address surveys will be emailed out to collect your shipping data, power cable type and colour preference. During this stage you will be able to buy additional machines and add spare parts such as extra sieves or glass brewing chambers.

What are the maximal dimensions for a mug I can use?

Any mug up to 12.5 cm/4.9in height and 9cm/3.55in in diameter will fit.

How does the gift card (also known as gift certificate or voucher) work?

The gift card has a code on it that can be redeemed for a machine - think of it as a machine voucher.

If you are buying the machine for yourself, you can ignore the gift card.

If you are buying the machine as a present for someone, you can give them the gift card and they can use the code on it to redeem a machine. They will need to provide their address through our website to have the machine sent to them once production is complete. Each pledge tier is for one machine only. Gift cards will be sent in November (with our glass mugs) so they can be given as presents for the holidays.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
